Today’s post is part 3 of a 4 part series on meditation. I'm excited to share with you something that has become a go-to for me, Holosync.
The Book
I stumbled upon Holosync when I found a book, called "Thresholds of the Mind," authored by Holosync founder Bill Harris. This book was literally sitting on my bookshelf, ha! It turns out my husband had done the Holosync program for a few years prior to us meeting. So I started my journey with Holosync by reading the book that outlined the process and the science behind the program. If this sort of thing interests you, check out the book, here.
Do this, TODAY
In trying to find an example of what a Holosync meditation track sounded like, I stumbled upon this Youtube version, linked here. I played this for a few nights before bed and noticed immediately that I slept well and even more surprisingly, some of my sleep stats on my Oura ring were the best they had ever been! So while I know there is a lot more to the program that I am still learning, if you want a very quick intro, I'd suggest listening to this meditation as a sneak peek into what is involved. Note that the track is ideally listened to with headphones or earbuds. This track has become a regular part of my wind down routine at night, especially if I find my mind is racing.
The App
There is also a holosync app that I have been listening to for a few years. It includes a handful of tracks, similar to the youtube version above, but specific to things like improved health or creativity. Just search "Holosync" in the app store. In the beginning I used this app daily, I’ll share more in my 4th post about what I’m doing lately.
In the Moment - Miscarriage Support
The most impactful moment of using this app was during my most recent miscarriage.
This loss was in 2022. I was ~11 weeks pregnant when I discovered there was no heartbeat. Rather than doing a D&C, my doctor recommended I go to labor and delivery and to use the drug misoprostol to help with the miscarriage. No one can quite prepare you for going through the process of delivering a baby in this way.
